High blood pressure: Older women losing teeth are at higher risk

Periodontal diseases may be responsible for about 40% of dental extractions and affect almost half of the adult population, but should not be taken lightly. Already known to be linked to an over-risk of cardiovascular disease and suspected to be at the origin of Alzheimer's disease, these infectious diseases also increase the risk of hypertension in postmenopausal women.
